9 Life Lessons From Candy Crush !!!!

Ever wondered whether a simple game on your cell phone can teach you the lessons of life?

If you haven’t, the first thing you need to do after you read this is download Candy Crush on your mobile or your iPad or your laptop. Let me introduce it to the few who are unfamiliar. It’s a game where you have to make combination of three or more candies of the same to crush them and earn points. You have a predetermined number of moves within which you must hit a specified target to reach the next level. Needless to say, as the level increases, so does the level of difficulty; and challenges grow trickier and more numerous.

I bet this simple game can teach us so many lessons in life. Initially it sounded quite weird but given a second thought, yes it does! It gives some of the best lessons in life, and sort of has given a new meaning to the phrase “Life is but a game” where ‘candy crush is the name of the game’ 😛 Here are few of the life lessons ;

1. Life is unpredictable, just like the game board of Candy Crush where you never know what the game has to offer to you. The only thing you can do is take it as it comes, and do your best to make the best of what you get. It motivates you to give your best with what you have in life, and move on to the next level.

2. Chocolate is bad! Yes, unfortunately, in the game too many chocolates ruin you. Which seems to be quite a metaphor as too many chocolates make you fat in real life as well. 🙂 😛

3. Unity is strength, just like the number of candies in the combination increases your chances of scoring, in real life if we stand together and support our friends….nothing is impossible.

4. Time and tide wait for none. The popular phrase is proven correct in the game, either have it in time or let it go !

5. Bounce back with a bang ! Oh yeah, life gives you many chances to learn from your mistakes, overcome and bounce back with full force.

6. Help your friends as much as you want them to help you. ‘Lives’ are all about give and take. (pun intended)

7. Life is both fun and frustrating, yet if you play along, it can be colorful and yummy! What better illustrates that than Candy Crush?

8. A great way to kill time is to develop hobbies and interests so that when your friends are a bit busy, you have another companion waiting for you.

9. Persistence is all it takes: It’s true that life is a race, and it requires patience and persistence. Keep on going because you never know you’re your hard work will pay off and all the preliminary failures will suddenly become ‘Level Completed’.

That’s the thing about life: It’s waiting to reveal the solutions to all the problems it has offered you, its waiting to teach you everything you ever wanna learn from it. The only question is that : are we willing to learn ?

And yes ! if you are willing to learn and your enthusiasm compliments your observation skills the why not, it has the ability to teach lessons of life using something as silly as a simple mobile game. And if you are not then, keep searching in vain. What matters in life is not what it has to offer but your attitude towards what comes your way !

So take a step back from the pace of life and observe the things around you. In your contemplation of them is hidden all you need to know.

Friendship : Decoded !

Recently International Friendship Day (Observed on First Sunday of August) went by. It meant celebration of FRIENDSHIP! This made me wonder- what friendship actually is ?

Giving my second thought to the question and stressing over a couple of days, here i am with my second post.

FRIEND or FRIENDSHIP, these words aren’t new to anyone of us. Right? But does its meaning remain same for all of us ? I sincerely doubt !

The moment a child steps out of the house for the very first time entering school, he/she starts to socialize, and make friends. How simple life was when we were kids! Anyone we talked to instantly became our friend with no hidden hard feelings. When sitting together in the class or playing all together made the best buddies, a thread meant the symbol of friendship.I wish the things were same now.

As we grow up, friends get categorized: friends, acquaintances, classmates, hostel mates, college friends, coaching friends, friends of same group, close friends, best friends and the list is long! One or two of the lucky ones would get the honorable tag of being the best friends! Silly but true isn’t it? The amount of sharing depends on the category we fall in & the level of friendship shared with them.

Well, that perfectly marked the difference from what childhood friendship was sharing everything equally with everyone. No ifs and buts! But the scene changes as we mature. Words are chosen with respect to the listener not the speaker.

Then the next question comes to my mind that- how do i justify friendship in the present scenario?

Everyone says that best friend knows it all. I ask you, is it really true? Aren’t there still some things deep in your heart that even your best friend doesn’t have a clue about? Whatever be your answer, yes or no. It did make you think for a while. Didn’t it?

But why do we divide the categories? Sharing a bit here and a bit there because we are scared of putting all the eggs in the same basket?? Is it the insecurity of being judged or the presumptions that the person won’t just understand? Or there isn’t enough trust in the person/ friendship? Or the fear that the secret we hold so deep in our heart will not be a secret anymore?
Sometimes these questions really freaks me out and make me think more. You never know, even the best relationship in the world can give a hard time to your neurons.

What is the reason, I wonder! Why can’t we treat every friend equal? I understand the fact that everything can’t be told to every single person whom we call our friend (with ever increasing friend list on social media) but what about inner circle of friends we have? Do we share everything with them? I am sure the answer will be NO!

Few of my friends gave an explanation saying– ‘ In today’s world, people don’t have time !’ Really? I bet, if i  get that busy someday, i would definitely not survive for more than a couple of days. No one in this world expects you to give a knock on their door everyday or chitchat on a daily basis. But doing it even once a week, would give them immense happiness and bring a smile on their face. And that didn’t include whatsapp or messaging, but according to the tech savvy genX, even that would work i guess. Will it?

So eventually, with so many friends around, we end up being alone with the company of those unspoken thoughts circling our mind constantly waiting to be heard.
So, is this friendship is all about?? May be!

I never thought of decoding a perfect definition of a friend or for that matter friendship. But to take a second thought of what friendship in particular means for us. Everyone will have their own version of friendship, and its very justified, but what are we doing to keep its spirit alive? Being in tough with your friends will obviously make you a more happier person, someone will always be there to hold your hand walk along with you.

Whatever we might go through or whatever we might/might not hide, we still need friends and for them we will always be ready to do anything because although we don’t share ourselves wholly, we do share a part of us with each one of them differently!

So fellas, stay connected to your pals ! If possible ring them, message them and talk your heart out. Maybe the person would have been waiting to hear from you, so when you cross each other someday, a smile would fill in the gap instead of weird awkwardness.

Stay Happy and Stay Blessed !

Do share what you think about friendship? 🙂

Anybody with an army background would agree that army kids really are a different league altogether. Whether you admit it or not, there’s always an air of awesomeness that surrounds them, wherever they go, whatever they do. 1. They travel while they’re growing up.

They’ve seen places you haven’t even heard of. They’ve seen the world the way nobody else ever will! They’re travelers, not tourists. They’ve traveled so much, they can recognize places just by the way the air smells. This quality gives them a never ending hunch for adventure and activeness to explore new places & cultures.

2. Having changed more than 5 schools before completing their education, they’re smart, confident and outgoing.

The variety of colleagues they have all over the country is far more than the amount of rings you can wear on your all ten fingers. Moreover, having taught by a lot of teachers, where each of them imparts their own culture and teachings, they happen to rock the outside world.

P.S.– And yeah ! With the experience of punishments they get from all places is enough to face a Goblin in an interview. 😛

3. And of course, making friends wherever they go is never a problem.

Yeah, even when it’s an alien.

4.They’re great conversationalists.

You can never get bored talking to them. They always have interesting stories to tell from the places they’ve traveled to.

This does not mean they haven’t experienced gully cricket, but the scope of learning a wide variety of sports is what you get in the army.

6.They’re so well brought up they learn to live in any given condition.

They’ve endured the scorching sun and survived the harshest cold. If you need to learn survival skills, you know where to go! And mind you surviving at a temp below minus 20 degrees will just freeze your spine.

Its simply awesome because, they have style. They dress well, speak well and behave well.

At last, they have the biggest discounts over thousand of products & that too is not a limited offer !!! 😛

P.S.– Not to forget, the cheap liquor! Cheers ! 🙂

9.Thanks to the reputed background they hail from, they’re much more aware about national issues than anyone else in their friend circle.

Give them a chance to enlighten you with their knowledge, mind you ! You will be amazed.

10.Tanks, rifles, guns – they get to see all the cool stuff!

11.They know patriotism like no one else. They whole heartedly prepare themselves for the fact that their fathers may never return, just for the sake of the nation’s security. They’re Indian at heart.

12.They’re good at almost everything they do. And history has it, army kids make great superstars!

P.S.– Priyanka Chopra is my favorite, 😛 🙂

The things that are mentioned above are just few highlights from the life of an army brat. No doubt that they are the coolest and have awesomeness running through their veins, but on the other side there are people from non army background who have many qualities that makes them the Best in their lot.  Just that with some proper guidance and exposure you can nurture yourself as a perfect gentlemen !
